Brochures and “palm cards” listing domestic violence hotlines and resources are placed in offices, waiting areas and restrooms in over 30 healthcare, business, church and school locations throughout Melrose. We have also developed a “teen palm card” which lists hotline numbers specifically for youth and is distributed through the schools and in the community. Our Domestic Violence Specialist works closely with the Domestic Violence Officer at the Melrose Police Department to follow up on domestic violence calls to the police. We offer information on obtaining restraining orders, safety planning, and resources for legal assistance.

MAAV also offers confidential support, information, and resource and referral services to victims, family members, friends, or anyone in the community seeking help. We provide referrrals to support groups, individual counseling, healthcare, services for children, and batterers’ intervention.
