All of us at MAAV remain deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend Anna Bastian, and are so thankful to all who have donated to MAAV in her memory. All of the donations received in Anna‘s memory will be used to establish a scholarship in her name for selected clients, survivors of domestic violence who are working to improve their lives through education. So far, we have received an amazing $7,295, which we know will improve the lives of survivors.
This is a mission we know that Anna would support. She was an integral part of MAAV from the beginning, as a member of the founding Melrose League of Women Voters and later serving as our Treasurer on the Board of Directors. Anna was involved in all aspects of MAAV over many years, enriching us with her sharp intellect, strong ethics and wry sense of humor. Most of all, she was passionate about our mission of supporting victims and survivors of violence.
