Charlie Melia joined MAAV’s Board of Directors in 2019. He spent more than a decade working with kids of all ages as an English teacher and now works as a small business consultant for a Massachusetts-based payroll services provider.
Charlie’s first experience with MAAV was volunteering on the Walk Committee and he also serves on our Men4MAAV group. He was drawn to MAAV because he strongly believes that education is key to preventing domestic violence.
Charlie lives in Melrose with his wife and young daughter. In his free time, Charlie enjoys spending time with his family, as well as playing ice hockey in a men’s recreational league, and he’s a Rotarian.
He says, “As the father of a 2 year old girl, I want to participate in programs aimed at preventing domestic violence, because I’ve seen the horrific effects of domestic violence many times.”
