About the Event

On Sunday, October 25th at 2:00 PM, we invite you to stand with us at our 31st Annual Walk to End Domestic Violence.

This long-standing tradition is a unique space where we gather to hold both remembrance and hope:

  • Before the walk begins, we hold space for remembrance. Through a series of gentle, reflective activities designed for all ages, we honor the memory of those lost to domestic violence, affirm that no one is forgotten, and remind ourselves of our individual and collective power to make change.

  • Then, we walk. Seeing 600 caring neighbors – families, youth, local leaders, and community members – filling our sidewalks is a powerful testament to what happens when we choose connection over silence. As we walk side-by-side for two miles, bonded in hope, our reflection becomes collective action. Together, we move closer to a future where every home is safe and every relationship is rooted in dignity and respect.

  • This is a free, family-friendly event, open to all. Everyone is welcome to participate in the pre-walk activities and the walk. If you are able, we invite individuals to make a donation to MAAV with their registration. For businesses, community organizations, sports teams, families and other groups, there are many ways to participate in and support the walk. Click here for more information.

Raise Critical Funds Together

As MAAV’s largest annual fundraiser, the  Walk raises critical funds that sustain school-based prevention programs, community outreach, and services for survivors of domestic and intimate partner violence in Melrose and surrounding communities.  When you support our walk, you are investing in a future where every home is safe and every relationship is rooted in dignity and respect.
